The Guardian of the Luminous Key was a member of the Covenant whose arrival in the Ascendant Justice was awaited by the Covenant forces stationed at Alpha Halo. He was briefly mentioned in a Covenant message translated by Cortana.[1]. Interestingly this specific being was never mentioned.
It is likely that he or she was killed either by John-117's boarding party, Cortana depressurizing a significant percent of the ship, or the ship's eventual destruction.
Trivia
It is possible that "Luminous Key" refers to the Activation Index of Installation 04, which the Covenant were undoubtedly eager to obtain.
