I think arbiter is in fact the highest commanding rank in miltary, but to be bestowed upon is unhonorable. Reason: Arbiters command every thing they come in contact with on their side.(Ripa over Zealots, Thel over Spec Ops) So, I believe it is the highest commanding rank, but obviously have no honor til death.--Lekgolo 05:16, December 17, 2009 (UTC)

how is dervish offensive to muslims Butthead4

:According to wikipedia, "a Dervish, or Darvesh, is someone treading a Sufi Muslim ascetic path or "Tariqah", known for their extreme poverty and austerity, similar to mendicant friars in Christianity or Hindu/Buddhist/Jain sadhus."
:Keep in mind that this was a post-9/11 world, where anti-Islamic xenophobia was at its height. Naming a member of an alien race bent on human destruction after an Islamic practice would have been interpreted as racist, casting the UNSC as the "Americans", and making Halo a metaphor for the War on Terror. A dervish is a devout religious person, and casting one as an extremely capable warrior and general would also have been offensive. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 13:56, 8 March 2011 (EST)
