The slug travels through the entire length of the tower and exits at the very top. Next when the player enters the final room on the Cairo Station level they can see the slugs being loaded into the base of the MAC tower before it is fired.

.there is also another 'larger' hole beneath this one but the other may be more correct as there is a similar shape on the [[Marathon-class Cruiser-Carrier|Marathon-class Cruiser]] and a larger one beneath the other possible MAC very similar to the larger hole on the [[Halcyon-class Cruiser]] but i have look all over the [[UNSC Frigate|Frigate]] from the halo 2 mission [[cairo station]] and can not find any sort of muzzle or exit hole at the front anywere.
