The ''Spirit of Fire'' is a former colony ship refit for use as a military support vessel, tasked primarily with deploying ground troops and prefabricated [[firebase]]s in support of UNSC expeditionary operations. The ship is dominated by a cavernous cargo-hold that stretches from one side of the ship to the other, which is connected to eight primary transfer bays located on its flanks that hold its complement of orbital transfer vehicles such as [[Darter]]s. Lining both sides of the ''Spirit'' are two angled wings, which have external clamps for five [[Heron]]s per wing at their widest point.
