Camp Hathcock was a facility utilized by the UNSC, and located on the northern continent of the planet Reach. Nestled in the Highland Mountains, Camp Hathcock was a top-level retreat; heads of state, VIPs, and top brass were the facility's normal occupants, along with a division of veteran, battle-hardened Marines.[1] After the battle of Sigma Octanus IV, Spartan-117, Captain Keyes, and several other members were debriefed here.[2] Also the Spartans often ventured to the place during training.
Trivia
It is possible that the camp is named after Carlos Hathcock. He was a legendary sniper in the Vietnam War and he went on to help train future snipers at the first official scout/sniper school. Hathcock held the longest recorded sniper kill for more than thirty-five years before his mark was surpassed in 2002 by Canadian Corporals Arron Perry and Rob Furlong - Furlong breaking his teammate's record mere days later.
