Toran was a UNSC "dumb" AI construct. Designed to solely hold knowledge on subjects he was built to know, Toran's abilities as an AI were limited in comparison to many of his counterparts. Toran was assigned to the Diplomatic Shuttle Han with Jacob Keyes and Dr. Catherine Halsey during the Spartan-II candidate evaluation mission.
Trivia
He was likely named after Toran, a sacred element of Buddhist architecture.
