The DAV-class light corvette[1] or the stealth corvette[2] is a class of small starship in the Covenant Navy.
Background
Similar in design to the larger SDV heavy corvette,[1] the DAV-class light corvette is used to infiltrate a planet's defenses for reconnaissance to make way for larger invasion forces. Despite its limited weaponry, the DAV-class corvette used active camouflage systems to render them imperceptible to UNSC sensors, and visually invisible.[2] It also possessed electronic countermeasures, able to interfere with the guidance systems of Archer missiles, and was able to gather intelligence.[2][1]
Operational history
A DAV-class corvette was destroyed during the battle of Sigma Octanus IV by the UNSC destroyer Iroquois.[3]
