The UNSC Saratoga was a Paris-class Heavy Frigate commission with the UNSC Navy. It was assigned to the Epsilon Eridani Fleet.[1]
History
On August 12, 2552 during the Battle at Szurdok Ridge, the Saratoga, as well as the UNSC Grafton (FFG-318), provided air support for UNSC forces engaging the Covenant on the ground. It was likely destroyed when a Covenant supercarrier, Long Night of Solace, revealed itself after destroying the Grafton.[1]
Trivia
- It is possible that the UNSC Saratoga was named in honor of the Battle of Saratoga, which occurred during the American Revolution, therefore carrying on a lineage of United States Navy ships named in honor of the battle.
- Like the Grafton and the Savannah, the Saratoga did not have its hull classification symbol painted on its bow.
