Summary
Retribution's Thunder was the first vessel under the command of Thel 'Vadamee, which he received directly from the Prophet of Regret. During the Battle of Charybdis IX in 2535, it attacked the UNSC destroyer Do You Feel Lucky? in an attempt to capture navigation data from the latter vessel.[1] Retribution's Thunder was then assigned by the Prophet of Regret to hunt down a group of allegedly heretical Kig-yar who were trading with the human survivors of the planet Hesiod.[2]
Upon finding the source of the "heresy" at the Rubble, the crew of Retribution's Thunder were betrayed by the Jiralhanae and Kig-yar aboard the Kig-yar raider vessel A Psalm Every Day. Retribution's Thunder was then self-destructed upon boarding by Kig-yar forces to prevent its capture. Many of the crew fled the ship after 'Vadamee rhetorically asked the crew if anyone wished to leave in order to weed out any dishonorable Sangheili and Unggoy. Most of Retribution's Thunder's crew perished while retreating or while fighting the boarders. However, 'Vadamee and his four-member Sangheili retinue - Jora 'Konaree, Saal, Zhar, and Veer - survived and were captured by Kig-yar forces.[3]
