I find it is very similar to the Modern day F88 Austeyr (Steyr AUG). Although with a lot more recoil. Uh, no. the gun you're talking about is vastly differet in looks and function, for many reasons.
.It has a black metal frame as opposed to the Steyr's gray plastic body.
.It is intended to function as a marksman's weapon as opposed to a standard-issue assault rifle.
.The DMR's magazine fits flush into the stock, which is trapezoidal. The Steyr has an entirely different shape, and its magazine is a curved, transparent, ridged, plastic, and does not fit flush into the stock.
.The Austeyr is made by Steyr, whereas the DMR has "Armalite MG" stamped on the side. Armalite is the company that originally employed the Canadian born Eugene Stoner who invented the AR-15 before the design was sold to Colt. In addition, Armalite was a subsidiary of Fairchild Aircraft, which designed and produced the near-indestructable A-10 Thunderbolt II, more widely known as the Warthog.
