The UNSC Bunker Hill was a UNSC ship of unspecified type. In 2531, it was the staging area for the Spartan-II team under command of John-117 to raid the United Rebel Front base of Camp New Hope on planet Victoria in the 111 Tauri System.[2]

Namesake

  • The first possibility is that this vessel is named after the Battle of Bunker Hill early in the American Revolutionary war in 1775.
  • Another likelihood is it was christened the Bunker Hill to pay homage to it's naval predecessors bearing the same name: the USS Bunker Hill (1917) originally a coastal steamer passenger ship, later acquired by the U.S. Navy and renamed the "Aroostook" (CM-3); or the World War II-era aircraft carrier USS Bunker Hill (CV-17)—perhaps the most well known of the ships bearing the Bunker Hill name, CV-17 partook in multiple battles in the Pacific campaign waged during the latter years of WWII including the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa the ship was eventually struck by two Japanese kamikazee pilots within 30 seconds of eachother crippling the ship; third to bear the Bunker Hill name is USS Bunker Hill (CG-52) a missile cruiser in the U.S. Navy that was commissioned in the late 1980's and served through the early part of the 21st century.
