Gruntpocalypse is a gametype in Halo: Reach Firefight where players kill oncoming waves of Grunts (Unggoy).
Overview
Gruntpocalypse is similar to the Bonus Round featured in Halo 3: ODST Firefight. Likewise, it involves a massive army of Unggoy of various ranks that will spawn continuously.
All load-outs consist of the DMR and M6 pistol for easy headshots. (hence the use of 'Grunt Birthday Party' skull.) A custom red skull is used during Gruntpocalypse which enhances sight and hearing of the Grunts to make the game a little harder.

- In Halo: Reach, Gruntpocalypse is regarded as a way to earn a high amount of Cr over a relatively short period of time.
- These Grunts are much less likely to run away when injured. However, they will still run if their leaders and allies fall beside them.
- The game type is deceptively difficult on higher difficulties such as Heroic or Legendary.
