Saal was a Sangheili (Elite) with the rank of Zealot. He was a member of Thel 'Vadam's group who attacked UNSC ships at Charybdis IX during a battle of the same name. The group was later ordered personally by the High Prophet of Regret to find the Kig-yar rebels trading Humans Covenant weapons. Thel orders him to brand himself with the mark of disobedience after disobeying his orders.[1]
