The Aszod ship breaking yards were a series of expansive industrial facilities on the human colony world of Reach at Aszod. Hundreds of UNSC starships at the end of their operational life were taken apart in the facilities to be repurposed for spare parts and materials, and the surrounding landscape was littered with wrecks of spacecraft. Among them was the UNSC Commonwealth, which was being disassembled in a section of the facility that was under control of Sinoviet Heavy Machinery. During the Battle of Aszod, in the final hours of the Fall of Reach on August 30, 2552, the UNSC Pillar of Autumn was drydocked near the ship breaking yards.[1]
The yards are the setting of the multiplayer level, Boneyard.
