Point Thingies earned towards your rank can be used to purchase armor pieces from [[Armor Permutations#The Armory .28Halo: Reach Permutations.29|The Armory]]. You will see that when you rank up you will be able to see items that you can't yet purchase, these are pieces you can purchase in a few ranks. Note that Point Thingies spent on armory purchases do not decrease your rank. However, Point Thingies (cR) earned from any other feature (Forge and Custom Games) are significantly lower than those awarded for playing multiplayer via Xbox Live or Campaign for online accounts only. However, any account that has never been connected to Xbox LIVE will not have a decrease in the amount of Point Thingies(cR) obtained for each gametype played.
