The Revenant is a Covenant vehicle utilized during the Fall of Reach.[1]
Design details
The Revenant is an infantry support vehicle with driving mechanics similar to those of the Type-32 Ghost. The driver is armed with a plasma-based weapon that functions similarly to the plasma mortar mounted on the Type-25 Wraith, but on a smaller scale. The weapon can fire approximately every two to three seconds. It is more agile than most vehicles and has the ability to boost, but provides little protection for its occupants. It can carry at least one passenger in a side-mounted seat.[1]
Trivia
- In folklore, a revenant was a visible ghost or animated corpse that terrorized the living.
- It appears similar to the Spectre from pre-release builds of Halo: Combat Evolved which was ultimately cut from the final game. However, it lacks the overhead defenses of the pre-release Spectre.
- The Revenant's targeting reticule is almost identical to that of the Type-52 Directed Energy Support Weapon.
