The Sabre is a space fighter operated by the UNSCDF.[1][2]
Description
The Sabre is a space based combat fighter which can be launched vertically from a ground-based launch platform, and uses multi-stage rockets to propel itself out of a planetary atmosphere. The fighter's armament includes twin machine guns, and it possesses Energy Shields.[1]
History
The Sabre was apparently the result of the "Sabre program", a top-secret UNSC project in which SPARTAN-B312 was involved at some point.[2] Reach had multiple Sabre fighters stored in launch facilities on the planet surface, used to reinforce the UNSC Navy, should they require assistance in battle. SPARTAN-B312 and Jorge-052 of Noble Team used one of these vehicles to assist the Epsilon Eridani Defense Fleet during the Fall of Reach in an operation known as "Operation Uppercut".[2][1]
