Five Long Years is a DVD exclusive song for Halo Wars that is played in the very first cutscene in the campaign. It runs for 3:51.
Structure
It starts with a low pitched piano beat, brass, then a trio of percussion and strings come in. This is followed by a chorus starting with female then male. This is followed by a series of computer generated noises, piano, then strings with the piano. Eventually all of the instruments come in to make the body of the piece.
Trivia
- The name of the track comes from Cutter's quote, "Five years, five long years. That's how long it took us to get Harvest back".
