The GWC Trans-African Pipelines, built by the Global Water Campaign, were located alongside the Tsavo Highway, using the road as a route through which it carried melt water from Mount Kilimanjaro to the GWC purification plant in the jungle. The pipes then transported the water along the Tsavo Highway across the rest of the African continent for distribution.[1]
