There was quite some contreversy  over the cost of the previously released map pack (Heroic) some stating that only Foundry was worth the money due to its "Sandbox" style forge mode

So far, however, only Avalanche has been stated as a remake of the Halo map Sidewinder. Ghost Town appears to have no resemblance to any other map in the Halo series. Also the Legendary Map Pack is retailing at the same price as the Heroic Map Pack, therefore indicating that this map pack, again, consists of three maps:


Delayed Maps

A few of the maps originally slated for the Legendary Map Pack, did not make progress as fast as expected. Due to this reason Purple Reign and Moonbase Alpha are not going to be released, in this map pack. However, these maps are planned to be finished and released with future map pack(s).
