The Legendary Map Pack or LMP is the second map pack to be released at the Xbox Live Marketplace for 800 Microsoft Points on April 15, 2008 for Halo 3. It is the follow up to the Heroic Map Pack, released in December 2007.[1] Bungie has stated, in a recent update, that the next map pack will be full of remakes. So far, however, only Avalanche has been stated as a remake and Ghost Town appears to have no resemblance to any other map in the Halo series. Also the Legendary Map Pack is retailing at a simular price to the Heroic Map Pack, therefore indicating that this map pack, again, consists of three maps:
- Avalanche (Formerly Cottonball)
- Ghost Town (Formerly O.K. Corral)
- Moonlight Sonata
Delayed Maps
A few of the maps originally slated for the Legendary Map Pack, did not make progress as fast as expected. Due to this reason Purple Reign and Moonbase Alpha are not going to be released, in this map pack. However, these maps are planned to be finished and released with future map pack(s).
Trivia
There was quite some contreversy over the cost of the previously released map pack (Heroic) some stating that only Foundry was worth the money due to its "Sandbox" style forge mode
