Were you looking for the Halo: Reach achievement, Dust and Echoes?
Dust and Echoes is a song included in the Halo: Original Soundtrack.
Appearances
It plays during the end of Template:Levelname, in the ending cutscene.
Overview
This track gives the player the feeling of being alone; that they lost everything and that the victory came at a terrible cost, which it did. Rather than infect the galaxy with the Flood or activate Halo, which would destroy all intelligent life in the galaxy, the total destruction of the ring was concluded to be the only course of action.
Other Appearances
- The middle section of the piece is the same as The Maw.
- The intro was remade as part of the Sacred Icon Suite on the Halo 2: Original Soundtrack.
- The third part of this piece is remade in the second half of Halo 3's "Wake Me When You Need Me" track. Both are named after quotes from Cortana and John-117 during the final cutscene from both games.
- The first part is played in reverse on the level Keyes during the cutscene where John-117 retrieves the Flood-assimilated Captain's neural implants.
