A Spotter Team consists of a sniper and a spotter, working together to either gather intelligence, pick off enemy troops or vehicles from afar, or to coordinate artillery or air strikes. The purpose of such an arrangement is so that the sniper and spotter together can locate and eliminate targets with much more efficiency that just a sniper alone, because their are two people looking for and finding targets, rather that just a lone sniper looking for targets.
Sergeant Johnson worked with an unnamed Marine during an operation to assassinate Jerald Mulkey Ander on Harvest in 2502. Johnson was the sniper, while the other Marine was the spotter. However, a Spartan II, Linda, preferred to work alone.
