Antlion Anti-Personnel Mines[1] are antipersonnel mines placed on the ground, similarly to the antlion insect which ambushes prey in a similar manner. They are used by the UNSC and many other military services,[2] being used as an anti-infantry role, as their ordnance yield more damage to unshielded targets. The mines will kill any unarmored opponent but will most likely deplete an armored opponent's shields so the attacker can move in for an easy kill. They are capable of both proximity and manual detonation.
Trivia
- The Antlion is not to be confused with the TR/9 Antipersonnel Mine from Halo 3 Multiplayer.
