Fire Team Charlie was a United Nations Space Command Marine unit stationed aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn that actively participated in the Battle of Installation 04. Several of them also participated in the Battle of Reach. They were all eventually killed in combat with the Covenant and Flood, save for Sergeant Johnson and Private Chips Dubbo.
During the raid on the Truth and Reconciliation, Cortana broadcasts: "Cortana to Fire Team Charlie. Move up on the left. You should be able to flank the enemy."
Connection with Foehammer
They seem to be in some connection with Pelican Dropship Echo 419's Pilot 'Foehammer.'. In the level Halo, Fire Team Charlie knows the pilot of dropship Echo 419 - 'Roger, Echo 419. This is Fire Team Charlie. We read you 5-by-5. That you, Foe Hammer?' .
Appearances
Fire Team Charlie was seen in Halo: Combat Evolved first in the beginning scene of level Pillar of Autumn, but were not named until the second level, Halo in which the Chief helped them to defend against Covenant forces until Charlie Team was evacuated by FoeHammer , presumably back to Alpha Base. They were also seen in the level Truth and Reconciliation
Deaths
After reaching the Truth and Reconciliation's Control Room, Fire Team Charlie stayed there to keep the area secure while the Master Chief went on to find Captain Keyes. Somewhere along the line, two Stealth Elites armed with Energy Swords sneaked into the Control Room and killed all the Marines. When the Master Chief came back he discovered this, he immediately shot one of the Elites with his Sniper Rifle, killing it, and unloaded an entire clip of Assault Rifle ammo into the other one.
Fire Team Charlie's death weighs heavily on the Chief's mind, as he feels they were his responsibility.
