Background
Alpha Company was the first company of Spartan-III to be trained. This group originally had 497 trainees recruited between the age of four, five, and six years old.[1] The children were orphaned by Covenant attacks on various colonies including Jericho VII, Harvest, and Biko.
Only 300 made it to become full Spartan-IIIs in active engagement service. They were tested on the night they were sent, and are instructed to paradrop to the designated pickup location.[2] They then started training at Camp Currahee on Onyx by Lieutenant Commander Kurt Ambrose, a SPARTAN-II, on December 27, 2531.[3] They went active in November of 2536.
They fought at Insurrection of Mamore, The Battle of New Constantinople, in the Bonanza Asteroid Belt, and the Far-gone Colony Platforms, among other engagements.[4] However, every single one of them died during Operation: PROMETHEUS, but halted a massive Covenant shipyard in the process.[5]
