Template:Ratings Template:Rank Infobox This article refers to the UNSC Marine Corps, UNSC Army, and UNSC Air Force rank of Captain. For the UNSC Navy rank, see Captain (Navy).
Captain is the highest company grade commissioned officer rank of the UNSC Marine Corps, UNSC Army, and UNSC Air Force equal in rank to Lieutenant in the UNSC Navy. In the Army and Marine Corps, they are usually placed in command of companies, or serve as staff officers in battalions. They may also serve in the battalion Executive Officer billet.
There are two Captains featured in the Halo Universe so far. One is the nameless commander of Tango Company, which was one of the Marine Corps' companies the Spartan-IIs were pitted against during their training as youths.[1] The second is Ponder, after being demoted from Lieutenant Colonel.[2]
The Marine Corps, Army, and Air Force rank of Captain is ranked three pay grades lower than a Navy Captain, and has no special command authority with respect to a ship.
