That was me, and yeah, there is a story behind it, though not half as interesting as that of her twice-renamed sister ship, "Dawn Under Heaven".

But forget the name, isn't it kind of suspicious that a single human corvette had any success at all against the Covenant navy, when in every previous battle the humans mostly just got sawed in half by particle beams when they tried to stand up to the aliens? (much less disabling four of their capital ships!) Do we know anyone who can work magic in fleet engagements against odds like that?

  • I don't think there's any reference to its being at Reach. However, I distinctly remember that the Dawn was the PoA's sister ship. I could probably find a source, but it will take a while. -The Dark Lord Azathoth 23:19, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

The facts for the DUH are not the same as the POA. The POA was specaly moded for the sparten mission. the DUH has no mentctioned mods.

FOF tag removed because source has been cited. --Councillor Specops306 - Qur'a 'Morhek 23:53, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

The Dawn

I don't know about you guys but I distinctly remember The Dawn dropping off three Scorpions and a few Warthogs halfway through the mission of The Ark in Halo 3....

Responce to: THE DAWN

You're right, the Dawn did drop of Marines in Halo 3, but that was the Frigate "Forward Unto Dawn" rather then the Cruiser "Dawn Under Heaven" but I also don't remember a mention of the DUH at Reach, and i have read that book 30 times (though there's always a chance i missed it)JamesRaynor 05:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)JamesRaynor

DuH Reference

Where is the Dawn Under Heaven mentioned? If it's in one of the books could someone please point me to the page. Thanks. Aglor 01:48, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Aglor

background

I am going to be writing a short story about the dawn under heaven, possibly detailing its history and its whereabouts. I am using all known information of it, but really there's nothing. Just this page.

Andrew Jenkins

Since theres only one source for the ship itself, and none at all for Mr. Jenkins, I'm removing that as fanon. Damn people adding themselves to a wiki dedicated to canon information... *rambles incoherently like he's seventy* Why, in my day we stuck to the FACTS! --Councillor Specops306 - Qur'a 'Morhek 08:00, 11 March 2009 (UTC)
