Lieutenant Junior Grade is a rank in the UNSC Navy. As a Commissioned officer, a Lieutenant jg. leads Non-commissioned officers and enlisted personnel. The equivalent rank in the UNSC Marine Corps is First Lieutenant and is below Lieutenant (Sr Grade) in the navy.
