First off, I changed the image on the article becuase Lt. Cmd has two full bars with a smaller bar between them, not three full bars (thats a full Cmd).
Second, I question where it lists Miranda Keyes as a Lt. Cmd. In the games she is a Cmd. I didn't change it because I don't know if a non-game source calls her a Lt. Cmd. Is there such a source? If not she should be removed from the list of Lt. Commanders.
P.S. I know that Halo 3 gives her the gold leaf of a Lt. Cmd, but Bungie obviously goofed because they still gave her 3 full bars (full Cmd) and she has the silver leaf of a full Cmd. in Halo 2. I highly doubt she would have gotten demoted. [[User talk:Iceman117|Iceman117]] 17:26, July 13, 2010 (UTC)

This 3rd in command nonsense is noncanon beause the rank structure isn't stated in the Halo Universe.--User:Mattwmetallica 05:17, 23 September 2006

In Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, Commander Richard Lash is second in command of the UNSC Dusk. His XO, is Lieutenant Commander Julian Waters (Halo: Ghosts of Onyx page 186). Lieutenant Commander does not denote third in command, but third in command is sometimes held by Lieutenant Commanders.--Rotaretilbo 17:40, 05 December 2006

I have removed the FactOrFiction template and edited the article so it no longer states third in command.--Rot 1943 9.12.06
I agree with Rot's decision, the term "Third in Command" is rarely heard anyway. In the case of Lash, he was the Dusk's "Acting CO", and Waters it's "Acting XO" while Captain Iglesias was absent. Normally, Lash would be XO, and who knows what Waters is called? Perhaps he had a specific duty e.g. Weapons, NAV, etc. -- Manticore Fleet Admiral.jpg Talk | CSV 15:22, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

The oak leaf is a Major's insignia. On Miranda's shoulders in Halo 3, you can also see the three gold bars and a star. So I changed the image. File:Arbitereye.jpgəґыţєґιιб1216050893 Assault Elite.jpgMajor-gr2.gif
