The Covenant Bomb was a type of large tactical ordnance. They were the counterpart to the UNSC's tactical Nuclear weapons.
Bombs were used during the First Battle of Earth to assault Orbital Defense Platforms. Boarding parties delivered the ordnance and destroyed Athens Station and Malta Station. The device on Cairo Station was secured by John-117 and Cortana. The Spartan performed a micro-gravity maneuver to deliver the device to a Covenant Assault Carrier. The enemy warship was destroyed.[1]
