Old Mombasa is the older part of the historic city of Mombasa. Old Mombasa serves as a reminder from where New Mombasa sprouted from years ago. The old city is somewhat run down and neglected when compared to the massive metropolis of New Mombasa.
Old Mombasa suffered quite a bit at the hands of the Covenant during their invasion in October of 2552.
It was the location of the Outskirts (Level), as well as the location of the Multiplayer map Turf (Level).
The city appeared to have been abandoned prior to the Covenant invasion. The sky above is a misty orange, perhaps suggesting high levels of pollution.
The city also had an incrediblly large and complex highway system. Stretching from one side to the other. Most of the Highway Blast doors(?) were closed down during the covenant attack, whilst others were kept open, allowing the chief to continue onwards. The Old Mombasa Highway ends where the 'Mombasa Suspencion Bridge' begins.
