Halo: Combat Evolved, commonly known as Halo, was the first game in the Halo series. It was released by Bungie for the Microsoft Xbox, and won Game of the Year award for 2002.
The story focuses on the protagonist, the Master Chief, who is a genetically modified supersoldier fighting for the Human Race. The story takes place a few centuries in the future, where the Humans are at war with the religiosly-driven multi-species Covenant.
During the story, the Humans discover a Covenant weapon known as Halo which has the power to destroy all living things in a galaxy if activated. The Master Chief, along with multiple factions of the UNSC Forces, fight to destroy this weapon.
