Overview

Design details

Main article: Assault cannon

The Wicked Grasp is a specialised variant of assault cannon, designed to use magnetic fields to shape and contain incendiary gas in a manner similar to other plasma weaponry. It has a blue-cyan colouration, and fires a burst of smaller fuel rod shots that are effective in close-mid range encounters.[1]

Usage

Although typically wielded by Mgalekgolo, Wicked Grasp are sometimes ripped off dead units to be wielded by Spartans as heavy weaponry.[1] They have been integrated into War Games simulations for use by SPARTAN-IVs.[3]

In-game information

Halo 5: Guardians

"Need to protect a base against infantry? The Wicked Grasp should make it easy to hold on and defend. It fires a burst of homing plasma shots that will drop a Spartan really quick. The projectiles have a slower velocity than most UNSC weapons, so effective range is diminished and the weapon is best used at short to mid-range."
— Senior Systems Designer Dan Wiksten, regarding Berserker's Claw.[2]

Wicked Grasp was added to Halo 5: Guardians in the Anvil's Legacy update. It is a Rare 3 energy REQ card that can be requisitioned in Warzone. The card can be sold for REQ Points 100.
