Laconia Station[1] was a space station used by the United Nations Space Command's Spartan Operations branch. Considered top-secret, it orbited a barely remembered, dark, dwarf planet distant from its system's star. The station was destroyed by Cortana in 2559 during the Created conflict, though Laconia is survived by its sister stations Naxos and Virgo.[2][3]

History

Destruction of Laconia

Leonidas later made contact with Cortana, who ordered him to destroy the station in order to remove the threat that the 76 Spartans still aboard posed. Leonidas complied, destroying the station and presumably killing everyone on board. After learning of this from Cortana's memories, John-117 and the Weapon were horrified by this callous act and the murder of so many Spartans.[1] The destruction of the station was so notorious that even War Chief Escharum of the Banished knew of it, estimating at least fifty Spartans had died, asking the Master Chief if he mourned the loss of so many fellow Spartans.[4]
