Before the formation of the United Earth Government and United Nations Space Command, the fascist Frieden movement was started to achieve peace through the destruction of the "oppressors on Terra Firma." Supported by Unified German Republic corporations who were frequent targets of Koslovic "workers' crusades", this movement formed from rising anti-Koslovic sentiment in the Jovian Moons. The Frieden attacked the UN Colonial Advisors on Io, sparking the Jovian Moons Campaign, the Rain Forest Wars, and a series of conflicts on Mars, all of which were a part of the Interplanetary War. Both the Frieden and the Koslovics were defeated by the UN and formally surrendered during the Callisto Treaty of 2170. "Frieden" literally means "peace"—in this case, they believed that peace could only be achieved once the "oppressors on Terra Firma" were eliminated. [1]
Organizational Aims
Judging by the term "secessionist", it is clarified that the Frieden movement's main goal was to separate itself from the United Nations' authority and create an independent state in the Jovian Moons.
