Monn I'zar was a Sangheili warrior who lived under the Covenant. Monn did not believe the stories told of the prowess of Spartan-IIs on the field of battle, until they came face-to-face with the Demon directly at some point after July of 2557.[1]

Production notes

"Monn I’zar knew the stories of the Demon were all lies. Metal men who could cut through entire battalions of the Covenant’s finest? Nonsense! However, face to face with that creature of legend, in that final moment, Monn was a believer."
— Official description for the Monn I'zar art piece.[1][2]

The artwork for Monn I'zar was created by Josh Kao for featured in the gallery portion of the graphic novel Halo: Tales from Slipspace. A lithograph of the ilustration was later made available for purchase, with a brief flavour text that provided a context for the image.[2]
