Bioroid armor

Bioroids on Lockdown.

The Bioroid armors are a suite of multiplayer armour sets in Halo 2: Anniversary. They will be implemented into the game during the Series 9 update.

Helmets

Bioroid Apollyon	The bioroids are weapon-parasites created by the Forerunners that transform those who possess the Reclaimer spark into killing machines.	The Exchange
Bioroid Israfil	The first type of bioroid to erupt from its unsuspecting Reclaimer host when she stumbled upon a nest of the Thinking Death.	The Exchange
Bioroid Tithonus	Bioroids can face down most threats, but those who erupt into this form are particularly adept at sensing the taint of the Thinking Death.	The Exchange

Trivia

• The Bioroid helmets are named after mythological beings of multiple human cultures and religions:
  • Apollyon is the Greek name for Abaddon, an important term for both Judaism (a place) and Christianity (a fallen angel) religions. In both religions, however, Apollyon/Abaddon is related to the concept of destruction.
    • Abaddon is also the name of a Precursor construct in the Halo universe.
  • Israfil is the name of one of the four angels who will blow the trumpet twice to signal the Qiyamah (the Judgement Day) in Islam: the first blow will kill all living creatures and the second blow will revive them.
  • Tithonus is a Greek figure, who's described as Goddess Eos' lover; in the myth, Tithonus became immortal but unable to age. Eos, unable to help him, made him into a cicada.
  • The entire Bioroid fracture appears to be homage to the Guyver bio booster armor series of manga and anime written by Yoshiki Takaya, in it the titular Guyver unit is a suit of symbiotic armor designed to amplify the wearers lifeforce, with the Israfil armor looking similar to the Guyver unit,
  • The name bioroid appears to be a play on the word Zoanoid which in the guyver series were genetically augmented humans and the foot soldiers of the Chronos corporation.
