Landfall is an asymmetrical Halo 4 multiplayer map. It was released as part of the Majestic Map Pack on February 25, 2013.[3]
Universe and lore
- Main article: Casbah Station
Landfall is set in Casbah Station, a shipping port in Casbah City, a city on the Inner Colony of Tribute. Before it fell to the Covenant, the world of Tribute was a bright beacon of commerce among the inner colonies. Although this planet is now a graveyard due to its violent razing, the port city of Casbah was once the site of a legendary battle between a Spartan fireteam and the entire Covenant invasion force. These few soldiers would ultimately give their lives, affording a handful of civilians safe passage from the colony[4] The urban, portside warrens of this battleground have since been catalogued as part of the War Games simulation and are regularly used for training by SPARTAN-IVs in homage to the great sacrifice made by a brave few. [5][1]
Unlike many other Halo 4 multiplayer maps, Landfall is set in 2552 during the Human-Covenant War.[4] In the background, multiple Covenant warships are attacking the city. A civilian transport craft is docked on a nearby runway; it leaves the dock every few minutes and returns after a while. Two F-41 Broadswords are parked on the runway, but, like the civilian craft, they cannot be interacted with. The garage area of the map is home to a Spade truck.
Overview
Layout
Landfall is a medium-sized, asymmetrical map that is separated into an outdoor area and indoor area. Most areas are made up of two levels, and have multiple passageways leading into them. There are numerous cargo containers to provide cover, and Fusion coils dot the outdoor area.
Trivia
- The Zanar-pattern light cruisers in Landfall have the green colored lights that are associated with the post-war Covenant rather than the original blue and purple lights. This is also true with the multiple corvettes as well.
- In Forge, it is possible to place Forklifts. However, these Forklifts are static pieces of scenery and cannot be driven nor destroyed. Also, when placed on the ground, the front of the Forklift often falls through the map.
