Farragut Station.

Farragut Station, also known as Farragut Outpost, was a small communications outpost near SWORD Base on the Babd Catha Ice Shelf on Reach. Located in a small valley, the outpost was composed of three deteriorating, primarily wooden structures arranged in a circular shape.[1]

History

Prior to May 2551, an incident considered by Laszlo Sorvad to be "intolerable" occurred on Farragut station, resulting in the professor's relocation from the facility.[2]

During the Fall of Reach on July 26, 2552, the Covenant had cut off communications from SWORD Base during an attack. Catherine-B320 and SPARTAN-B312 were ordered to reactivate the COM array at Farragut Station in order to contact UNSC Command. A small Covenant force was occupying the base at that time.[1]

Between August 14 and August 29, Covenant forces occupying Sword Base built a defensive position at Farragut Station. This position contained multiple Shade Turrets, a Deployable lookout tower and a pair of Ghosts, manned by a group of Grunts led by a single Sniper Jackal.[3] On August 29, SPARTAN-B312 and a team of Orbital Drop Shock Troopers once again passed through Farragut Station whilst on a mission to destroy the nearby Sword Base. However, by the time of arrival the station had been flooded due to ice melt from Covenant activity, leaving only the rooftops above water. The team destroyed the Covenant defensive position before moving on toward the objective.
