Template:Ship

When a UNSC ship is being attacked by Covenant forces, rather than destroy it, the Covenant forces may attempt to board the ship and search for vital information or capture valuable individuals in the crew. In such a situation the Boarding Craft is used. They simply use the windows or the empty escape pod docking rings to board the vessel.

The Boarding Craft are reusable, and able to leave the UNSC ship and return to a nearby cruiser should the need to retreat occur.

The Covenant have been known to try and capture a UNSC ship instead of destroying it. When they attempt to capture a ship they damage it enough so that the crew must abandon it via the escape pods, then they use the empty escape pod docking rings to board the vessel- humans go out, the Covenant go in.

When it boards through windows it probably uses the outer piece of the boarding tube to super heat the glass, so the glass won't shatter when it latches on. It also seems it must be done quick and carefully because the vacuum of space will instantly cool the glass down.

Several fan-sites have given it the nickname: "Razor".
