Challenges in Halo Infinite are daily and weekly objectives that players can complete for experience points (XP), which contributes to progression on the seasonal Halo Infinite Battle Passes. Challenges can be earned in multiplayer.[1]
Overview
Challenges are available in three tiers of difficulties ("Normal", "Heroic", and "Legendary"), with corresponding levels of XP rewards. Daily challenges are refreshed everyday at 10:00 am PST. Each day, there are four daily challenges that reward XP for completing multiplayer matches. The XP reward decreases incrementally, starting from 300 XP being rewarded at the first challenge. The second and third challenges reward 200 XP. The fourth, fifth, and sixth challenges reward 100 XP. The seventh challenge, which can be completed multiple times, rewards 50 XP.[2][Note 1]
Every week, each player is assigned a set of random 20 weekly challenges (8 Normal challenges, 8 Heroic challenges, and 4 Legendary challenges), selected from a pool of 700 potential challenges. By default, all players have three slots for active challenges to complete at any given time. A fourth challenge slot is available to players that have purchased the Premium Battle Pass. Upon the completion of an active challenge, another weekly challenge will take its place, until all 20 challenges have been completed. Upcoming weekly challenges can be accessed from the menu, and players can use the Challenge Swaps consumable to exchange an active weekly challenge for a new challenge from the same tier and same category of gameplay action.[1] Furthermore, XP rewards can be doubled using the Double XP Booster consumable.
When a player has completed all Weekly Challenges in a week, a Weekly Ultimate Challenge (at the "Mythic" difficulty tier) becomes available for completion, which is the same for every player each week. Players that complete the weekly Ultimate Challenge will receive a unique reward, such as an armor piece, a weapon coating, an armor coating, or an emblem.[1]
Weekly challenges are reset every week on Tuesday at 10:00 am PST.[4] During events like the Fractures: Tenrai event, weekly challenges are replaced by event challenges, the completion of which rewards an item on the Event Pass. Event challenges are typically differentiated from weekly challenges with orange banners on their icons. During other events, like the Winter Contingency event, items on Event Pass are rewarded simply by completing the first daily challenge of the day, "Spoils of Sparta".

Production note
During the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Tech Preview, the Ultimate challenges were known as "Capstone" challenges.[1] During the Tech Preview, the "Tactical Precision" challenge rewarded the Abbey Lime Sniper Rifle Coating like in the final game, whereas the "Hello World" challenge rewarded the Hexen Slate Armor Coating, which, in the final game, is only attainable by purchasing "Greenhorn Pack" from the Shop for 500 cR.
Notes
- ^ Initially, between November 15 and 18, 2021, the Daily Challenge system had three tiers. In the first and easiest "Normal" tier, challenges reward 100 XP, and they can be completed for completing any multiplayer matchmaking games, including multiplayer games against Bots. After having completed all of the challenges at the "Normal" tier, players progress into the second "Heroic" tier, in which challenges reward 150 XP but require playing PvP matches. Upon completion of the challenges at the "Heroic" tier, players progress into the "Legendary" tier, in which challenges reward even more XP, but require winning PvP matches. Each set of daily challenges will reset to the lowest tier each day.[1] Between November 18 and 29, a repeatable daily challenge rewards 50 XP for completing a matchmade game, with a limit to the number of daily challenges that could be completed.[3]
- ^ There were issues in tracking Double Kills for this challenge, but the issues were resolved on January 13, 2022.[5]
- ^ Despite the wording of the challenge requirement, which stipulated "Win Attrition Matches", players have reported that losing matches also contributed progress to the challenge.[6]
