The Headshot medal is awarded for killing an enemy with a headshot. It is available in Halo 3 (in campaign only), Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, Halo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Halo 5: Guardians campaign, multiplayer, Firefight and Spartan Ops. In the first three games it is represented by a "targeted" purple skull in the middle of a gold six-sided star. In Halo 4 and The Master Chief Collection it is represented by a targeted white skull on a blue circle on top of a grey four-point star. In Halo 5: Guardians the skull is replaced with a white and red target on a blue circle with four points.
This medal cannot be achieved with every weapon, but only with headshot-capable weapons. In Halo: 3 ODST the medal is used in place of the Sniper Kill Medal.
