The CQS48 Bulldog otherwise known as the CQS-48 Combat Shotgun is a type of human Shotgun manufactured by Misriah Armory in Eos Chasma. It appears to be in service with the UNSC, as well as being employed by Banished-affiliated Jiralhanae in 2560.[1]
Overview
Specifications
The CQS48 Bulldog is a pump-action combat shotgun which fires 12-gauge shells from a 7-round rotary magazine.[2] After every shot, the foregrip must be retracted and pushed forward again to work the weapon's action and rotate the cylindrical magazine into the next position. The rotary magazine allows the CQS48 to replenish its supply of loaded ammunition substantially faster than the non-detachable magazines of the M45 and M90 shotguns. However, the 12-gauge ammunition it fires is substantially smaller. The Bulldog integrates iron sights and multiple attachment rail segments on its body. The CQS48 used in 2560 features a matte black and dark grey finish.[1]
Gameplay
The CQS48 has a ready ammo count of 7.[2] The pickup prompt indicates that the CQS48 is a "shotgun", with "kinetic" and "spread" properties. The weapon can be fired rapidly, with a much higher rate of fire than previous shotguns in the franchise, at the expense of heavier vertical recoil during rapid fire.[1]
Details
- If you look closely at the weapon's exterior, you can find a label with 3 important details. A bar code and 2 dot codes. The bar code is too obscure to scan as of previous attempts. One dot code scan translates to Eos Chasma, a reference to the Misriah Armory, but the other dot code which has a red dot in the middle is actually, when cleaned up significantly, transforms into a UPS shipping label, which then when using a maxicode scanner translates into CQS48 Combat Shotgun. You can also find similarly designed details on weapons such as the BR75 battle rifle, the S7 Sniper and the VK78 Commando.
Production notes
In the July 2020 Halo Infinite Campaign Gameplay Premiere, the CQS48 was shown with a 10-round rotary magazine.[1] However, the Halo Infinite Multiplayer Tech Preview in July 2021 showed that the ammo count had been reduced to 7.[2]
