Rock Anthem for Saving the World is the sixteenth track in Halo: Original Soundtrack.
Overview
The track features the triplet rhythm from the Halo Theme, accompanied by an electric guitar playing improvisations over the triplet rhythm. The piece was arranged into Rock in a Hard Place in Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary: Original Soundtrack.
Appearances
It can be heard:
- In the level The Silent Cartographer, just after John-117 exits the facility after activating the Cartographer.
- In the level Assault on the Control Room, at the base of the Control Room, though only the initial part of the piece is heard.
- In the level Two Betrayals, when John-117 has climbed down to the base of the Control Room.
- In the Halo 3: ODST level Coastal Highway, when the players walk down the first off-ramp to acquire the M41 SPNKR and M274 Mongooses for the achievement Vidmaster Challenge: Deja Vu.
Production notes
It runs for 1:18, but is also listed as being 1:17 seconds long, a reference to John-117. As such, the soundtrack has the same length with We're Not Going Anywhere, Prepare to Drop, and Remembrance.
