Mare Insularum is a mare on Luna located in the Insularum basin just south of Mare Imbrium.[1]

Human-Covenant War
During the Human-Covenant War, Jacob Keyes had an apartment that was located here on Luna, where he lived with his daughter, Miranda, when she studied at the Academy at Mare Nubium.[1]
Trivia
"Mare Insularum" means "sea of islands" in Latin. Its name came from the fact that old astronomists from antiquity believed that the Moon had water on it, and that Mare Insularum was actually a sea.
