Carbon nanotube cloaking is a stealth technology used by the United Nations Space Command. Similar to photoreactive panels, it is capable of rendering an object partially invisible to the naked eye, making it somewhat useful in cases where the enemy had no access to sophisticated detection equipment. By March 2553, it was an old technology and considered mostly obsolete. The ONI stealth-variant Pelican dropship Tart-Cart, used by Kilo-Five, was equipped with carbon nanotube cloaking. Kilo-Five used this feature during their approach on Acroli, Sanghelios, on a mission to retrieve Professor Evan Phillips.[1]
