This article is about the UNSC autoturret featured in Halo 4. For the similar weapon type introduced in Halo 5: Guardians, see Unidentified UNSC turret. For the Forerunner weapon, see Forerunner automated turret.

Template:Weapon Infobox The M3063 Automated Heavy Machine Gun/Self-Tracking (M3063 AHMG/ST), colloquially referred to as the Deployable Turret or Autoturret,[1] is a UNSC Defense Force automated anti-personnel sentry weapon. Mounted on a heavy tetrapod, the weapon emits a visible laser to aid in targeting. It features a machine gun that fires at a moderate rate, and an energy weapon that fires EMP shots similar to the Type-25 plasma pistol.

Operational history

This autoturret was frequently used in War Games training sessions by SPARTAN-IVs aboard the UNSC Infinity. It was an effective way to defend captured bases and secure objectives, especially in Dominion matches.[2]

When the Infinity returned to the Forerunner shield world Requiem in 2558, various UNSC bases and outposts were established on the inner surface of the planet. Several such autoturrets were used to defend these locations, including Galileo Base, Two Giants and Magma Base.

Trivia

  • It is possible to place these on a map outside of Dominion, but it is necessary to remove the Dominion gametype label from the object first.
  • If one places and activates one of these turrets in Forge, and then deletes the base, the actual turret itself will remain.
