Scholastic, also known as Scholastic Inc. is a global book publishing company known for publishing entertaining and educational materials for educators and youth. Founded in 1920, the company is one of the world's largest publisher of children's books, and owns exclusive publishing rights to the Harry Potter series and The Hunger Games novels.

Halo

In 2018, Scholastic launched its AFK (Away from Keyboard) program, an initiative which aimed to provide video game-related book titles for young readers. Microsoft's Halo franchise was among the many gaming properties included in the Scholastic AFK line. Scholastic first published Halo: Official Spartan Field Manual, an in-world gaming guidebook, on September 25, 2018.
