It is amazing that he got as far as he did in the [[Library (Level)]], given that he had no [[MJOLNIR armor]] or physical augmentation, as [[Spartans|Spartan IIs]] do. The [[Master Chief]] found his body in the Library, surrounded by spent shells and untouched by the [[Flood]]. To quote the Chief: ''"I didn't know you, Sarge, but I sure as hell wish I had. You must have been one hard-core son of a bitch."'' It is believed that his body was so mutilated that the Flood left it, believing it was of little practical use to them.
